RESEARCH BASED THERAPY

Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage, (RLD) is an award winning treatment pioneered by Sally Kay a multi-award winning reflexology practitioner, researcher, educator and author. She developed this ground breaking technique which focuses on stimulating the lymphatic system through the foot and hand reflexes. The aim of this treatment is to cause a positive effect on the lymphatic system of the body.

Initially this technique was devised for breast cancer patients who suffered from secondary lymphoedema in the arm or both arms after chemotherapy and lymph removal. This treatment has been found to significantly reduce the volume of swelling and has undergone further research using thermal imagine to confirm its results.

Clients suffering from other conditions such as autoimmune disorders, for example ME and Fibromyalgia skeletal pain, can also benefit and have reported improvements from this specialised technique.

The RLD sequence is different to the standard reflexology treatment and has been designed with a specific and unique sequence which is carried out three times. Light to medium precise pressure and massage is applied starting with the foot on the non-affected side of the body.

This innovative technique is designed to stimulate the lymph fluid in the feet and lower legs and to help release it.

For more information see SALLY KAY RESEARCH and read about her extensive clinical practice and research studies and some further case study reading for clients suffering with lymphoma and the treatments received. She has gained worldwide recognition and has been awarded both national and international awards.
